Advance Auto Parts Clash, formely Sprint Unlimited and Budweiser Shootout, the climax to a racing doubleheader, is a no-holds barred All-Star race with the top NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stars.
The "Budweiser Shootout" held 1979-2008, was a non-points event (formerly named the "Busch Clash" and "Bud Shootout") has jump-started the NASCAR Cup Series and was the season-opening race at the "World Center of Racing" one week before the Daytona 500.
The 70 lap race among the winners of the "Bud Pole Award" from the most recent season and included past champions from prior "Busch Clash" and "Bud Shootout" events. Previously, Bud Pole second-round-fastest qualifiers from all points races were eligible to race for one slot in the Budweiser Shootout; there is no longer a qualifying race (as there is no longer a 2nd round of qualifying). This was a DRIVERs race, so if Driver A left Team A and went to Team B, then it was Driver A in the Team B car and the Team A car is not eligible unless they found a new driver who was eligible.
The standard track at Daytona International Speedway is a four-turn superspeedway that is 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long. The track's turns are banked at 31 degrees, while the front stretch, the location of the finish line, is banked at 18 degrees.

2013 Sprint Unlimited Winner
Kevin Harvick won NASCAR's season-opening 2013 Sprint Unlimited at Daytona. This is the third time he's won the race formerly known as the Shootout in the last five years. Harvick is leaving RCR for Stewart-Haas Racing after this season.
2012 Budweiser Shootout Winner
The 2012 Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway winner is Kyle Busch. Busch crossed the finish line first at the 75-lap sprint. The young star showed the patience to wait for his time and the aggressiveness that Dale Earnhardt Sr. exemplified.
2011 Budweiser Shootout Winner
When Denny Hamlin darted below the yellow line on the last lap of 2011 Bud Shootout and made a pass on Ryan Newman, half of him thought NASCAR would declare him the winner. The other half – the one that turned out to be correct – knew NASCAR might penalize him for the illegal pass. And officials did so without much hesitation, awarding the win to Kurt Busch and relegating Hamlin to 12th place.

Betting Tips and rules for Daytona 500 To Follow
1) Park away from the Speedway. The parking is cheaper and the after-race traffic will thin out as you walk back to your car.
2) Choose your vantage point. Take to the grandstands for relative serenity, the infield for rowdiness.
3) Entering rules. Grandstand fans may take in only one small, soft-sided cooler and a clear tote bag. If you're a pack mule, go for the infield.
To AVOID
1) Plan your day ahead of time. Know when the races start and finish, and stay home during peak traffic.
2) Shop by phone. Merchants near the Speedway recommend calling ahead for quick shopping.
3) Dine in, On Race weakend. Leave local restaurants for the tourists this weekend. Stay home if you like a quiet dinner.
