NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Current Champion: Denny Hamlin
The Lifelock 400 is the beginning race for the Michigan International Speedway’s racing season and it is held every June.
NASCAR's best drivers battle it out in the Irish Hills of Michigan during the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400.
Michigan International Speedway hosts NASCAR's annual stop in June. Formerly the Sour Cream Dips 400 (Michigan 400, the LifeLock 400) is at the halfway point of determining who will make the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Michigan International Speedway is one of NASCAR’s fastest tracks. But there is some confusion. Michigan International Speedway now hosts two 400 mile NASCAR events. The first, occurring in mid-June, is the Lifelock 400. The second comes later in the season and is known as the 3M Performance 400. Both are showcases for NASCAR and breathtaking displays of unadulterated speed at one of the sports finest tracks.
Odds to Win 2012 Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400
2011 Michigan Lifelock 400 Winner
Denny Hamlin is the winner of 8 races in 2010. Thanks to a late caution, Hamlin was able to hold off Matt Kenseth to win the 2011 Helluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 at Michigan International Speedway for his very first win of the year. Hamlin’s pit crew got him out in front for the final restart and although Kenseth gave it everything he had, the No. 11 FedEx Toyota came home first, his second win at MIS.
2010 Michigan Lifelock 400 Winner
Hamlin's Michigan victory was his second-straight and 13th career win. It's an impressive leap considering that prior to the removal of the rear wing, Hamlin's best finish was 17th in the season-opening Daytona 500, coming after he tore an ACL while playing basketball. Finishes of 29th at Fontana, 19th at Las Vegas, 21st at Atlanta and 19th at Bristol gave little indication he would emerge as a serious threat for the title. But when the wing was removed, Hamlin took flight.
